Iloilo City Opens Customer Care Center for Public Complaints
Iloilo City — The city government here has opened a customer care center that will cater to public complaints against city hall employee or officials in a move to help stem the tide of graft and corruption if there is any.
The customer care center is also envisioned to help speed up city hall transactions and services to the general public, specifically those poor city constituents.
City Administrator Hernando Galvez said that City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog thought of the service scheme to fast track services and other programs of the city government with the transacting public serving as eyes and ears of city hall.
“Let’s face it, city officials and employees could not cope up with the bulk of workload and it takes the general public to inform us what they need,” Galvez said.
The customer care center will be manned by Eireen Manikan of the city admin as executive director with members from the city legal office, public information office, human resource office and a representative from the civil society or non-government organization.
It is different from the grievance committee, which deals specifically on complaints filed by an employee against a fellow employee of the city. (PNA) LAP/PGL/LCPENDON/CBF
