Ilhon Ang Mitawilan sa Dili Pa Tabonan
I agree with Health Secretary Enrique Ona that instead of digging a big hole where the dead in Tacloban City will be buried en masse, proper and systematic identification of the dead be made so that concerned relatives will be notified and that honor and respect be given to the dead before they are finally laid to rest. It has been said and I heard it many times that there are only two important aspects related to the life of a man: (1) First, the day when he first came into this world – birthday; and (2) Second, the moment he leaves this world regardless of whether he lived a remarkable life or a life of the infamous – burial.
For all we know, some of those who died at the height of typhoon Yolanda could have done many things for the good of our country. It is only but a fitting gesture on the part of the living to make necessary arrangement to make their demise something worthy to remember them by as our fitting tribute to their lives whose unfinished tasks were suddenly cut short, unexpectedly and mercilessly, by the strongest typhoon man can ever imagine to have visited this planet.
