IACT-Region 7 Launched to Solve Traffic in Cebu

More than 500 traffic enforcers from more than 15 different government agencies unite to solve the worsening traffic conditions in the province of Cebu and neighboring provinces as Department of Transportation (DOTr) recently launched InterAgency Council for Traffic – Region 7 (IACT-Region 7).

IACT Deputy Executive Director Elmer Argaño shared his insights about the agencies goals and concerns to Cebu’s Traffic condition.

“We do not want to create another Metro Manila out of Cebu,” Argaño added.

Present in the event were key government officials: Presidential Assistant for Visayas Sec. Michael Lloyd L. Dino; Department of Transportation Assistant Secretary for Special Concerns and Chief of i-ACT Task Force B/Gen. Manuel Gonzales (ret.); Cebu Governor Hilario P. Davide, Jr.; Mandaue City Mayor Gabriel Luis Quisumbing; Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Usec. Jose Arturo Garcia; LTO Law Enforcement Service Dir. Francis Almora; Police Regional Office 7 Regional Chief Directorial Staff P/SSUPT. Ronald Oliver Lee; LTFRB Region 7 Director and i-ACT Region 7 Co-Chairman Col. Eduardo Montealto; Co-Chairman, i-ACT Region 7, LTO Region 7 and i-ACT Region 7 Director Dir. Victor Emmanuel C. Caindec; and mayors from other local government units of the region.

IACT-Region 7 continues its campaign against non-roadworthy vehicles through “Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok” campaign and “Task Force KAMAO” campaign a campaign against colorum vehicles. (Aljun S. Cainghog)
