Hundreds Join Funeral of Slain Suspected No. 1 Drug Lord in Central Visayas
Hundreds of supporters, family members and friends joined the funeral Monday afternoon of slain suspected No. 1 drug lord in Central Visayas Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz.
Diaz was killed in a shootout with operatives from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 on June 17 in Las Piñas City.
He has been tagged in a multi-million peso criminal drug syndicate.
The funeral started with a mass at the San Nicolas Parish in Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City, around 1 p.m.
A drum and bugle corps accompanied his hearse carried on the shoulders of six men.
His supporters wore shirts printed with Diaz’s face.
Members of the media were not allowed to enter the church where the mass was held.
Diaz was buried in a Php 200,000 mausoleum built at Calamba cemetery in Cebu City. (PNA) RMA/EB/EDS
