How to Sneak In 1-Minute Workouts Anywhere
If you can’t hit the gym today, don’t worry! There are simply and easy ways to burn those calories. Here are some situations where you could sneak in some extra workout time anywhere you are.
Waiting in line.
Sneaky move: Calf raise.
Stand with feet parallel, shoulder-width apart, and slowly lift heels off the ground so you stand on the balls of your feet then lower, slowly.
Try the exercise with your feet turned slightly outward at the 10-and 2-o’clock positions to work the outer calf muscles.
Watching TV commercials.
Sneaky move: Butterfly crunch.
Lie on your back with soles of feet together and your knees bent out to sides. With hands behind your head, lift chest a few inches toward legs.
You may also want to try to lower to starting position. Lift both legs straight toward the ceiling with toes pointed. Place hands behind your head and do the crunch.
Emptying the Dishwasher.
Sneaky move: Squat.
Stand with feet hip-width apart with knees slightly bent and hands at sides. As you squat, keep your knees behind toes, raise arms forward to chest level. Stand up and lower your arms.
Try also a single-leg squat. Lift right food a few inches off the ground and squat on left leg. Switch sides.
