High Pressure Area, Easterlies To Bring Warm, Humid Weather On Friday
The ridge of high pressure area and easterlies continue to be the dominant weather systems that will bring warm and humid weather in most parts of the country on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
HPA is the opposite of the low-pressure area – a weather system consisting of warm air circulating over the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA said the presence of easterlies or warm winds from the east are affecting Visayas and Mindanao while the ridge of high pressure area (HPA) in Luzon. Both weather systems will bring high temperatures and good weather conditions to the country in the coming days.
Despite a warmer weather, the occurrence of isolated rains will still prevail due to localized thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
The state weather bureau explained that the convective activity brought about by intense heat triggers the formation of more cumulonimbus clouds or dark clouds associated with thunderstorms that brings rains.
For Friday forecast, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
The state weather bureau did not issue a gale warning which means it is safe for the fisherfolk to venture into seas. (PNA) JMC/CLTC
