Haladaya Festival Queen Crowned Cebu Provincial Meet Festival Queen
One of the highlights of the recent Cebu Provincial Sports and Cultural Festival 2014 was the search for the Provincial Meet Festival Queen 2014/2015.
Twenty-four candidates from different municipalities vied for the title. The pageant, which showcased beauty, talent and intelligence, was held at the Cerge Remonde Sports and Cultural Center in Argao, Cebu.
Charisse Claire Lanchinebre from the municipality of Daanbantayan was crowned Provincial Meet Festival Queen 2014/2015. Crisilla Nowela Quiapo Rufila of Consolacion took the first runner up, Ravilyn Mangompit of Compostela placed second, and Trixi Raboy of Ronda and Trina Louis Rivera of Carmen were placed third to fourth runners-up, respectively.
Lanchinebre is a third year high school student from Daanbantayan National High School. During the video analysis portion in which a one-armed tennis player is shown, Lanchinebre explained that disability is not a hindrance to success. She added that amidst the devastation of typhoon Yolanda the Filipino spirit and optimism remain for no typhoon can bring Filipinos down.
“It feels amazing, great and overwhelming because the hard work and sleepless nights paid off,” she said in an interview, referring to her win.
When asked about her message to aspiring candidates, she said ”not to give up, just be themselves on stage and they will stand out.”
Lanchinebre will be representing Cebu City for Ms. Teen Earth Philippines 2015 this April.
