Gun Used in Tabanao Killing Puzzles Task Group
The PNP task group in charge for investigating the death of PDEA 7 agent Jessie Tabanao is mystified as to the type of gun used in the agent’s killing.
Ballistic test shows that empty shells found in the crime scene, believed earlier to be coming from a .9mm caliber pistol, did not match with the properties of a .9 mm pistol.
Chief Insp. Romeo Santander of Task Group Tabanao, said there is a possibility that the recovered bullets may come from a new type of .9 mm pistol.
Santander said that with the recent development, they will seek the help of the Firearms Explosives Security Agencies and Guard Supervisory Section to check if there are new version of .9 mm pistol registered in its office.
Meanwhile, at least five individuals who reportedly have witnessed the killing of Tabanao last week were being invited for questioning by the Cebu City Police Office. Not one of them, however, agreed to sign an affidavit despite assurance from the authorities that they would be given protection.
