Gun Ban Violators Now At 2,916 — PNP

The number of violators in the current election gun ban has reached to 2,916, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

As of Monday, the figures include 2,803 civilians, 35 security guards, 21 government officials, 23 police officers, 14 military personnel, six employees of a law enforcement agency, five from private armed groups (PAGS) five from member of threat groups, three members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU), and one Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel.

The PNP confiscated 2,268 firearms, 24,754 deadly weapons, 180 grenades, 291 other explosives, 113 firearm replicas, 849 bladed/pointed weapons and 23,321 pieces of ammunition.

The gun ban imposed by the Commission on Elections imposed for the national and local polls started on January 10 and will be in effect until June 8. (PNA) BNB/CLTC
