Gun Ban in Effect Until June 13
The elections may be over but the gun ban is still in effect until June 13.
Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman, Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr., in a radio interview, said that the public will still see checkpoints, being part of the gun ban, until June 13. He said only law enforcers in uniform are allowed to bring their guns while on duty.
As of this week, the PNP had arrested at least 3,000 persons who were found violating the gun ban, which took effect weeks before the May 13 elections.
