GT Cosmetics Launches New Product; Expands Globally
Homegrown skin-care company GT Cosmetics has expanded its beauty product-line after launching their new GT Essential Facial Scrub to further serve the growing demands of the beauty segment in the international market.
GT’s Facial scrub, which made up with natural extracts, helps minimize pores and hydrates skin cells that can be applied both in the face and body.
This product is in addition to the company’s existing product line composed of the three soap variants—bleaching: carrot and papaya, the GT sun block, toner, moisturizing cream, bleaching cream, cleanser and astringent for men and women.
GT Cosmetics Founder and Chief Executive Officer Leonora Salvane, in a press conference Wednesday, said there are still more products that are lining up for launching this year, some of these are Papaya lotion, fragrances, liquid soaps, facial and body scrubs.
GT, herbal-based beauty products, uses ingredient for its products highly refined coconut oil, which is more purified and more expensive than what is normally used along with any other natural extracts.
Plants Expansion
“Many products are in line-up which is also the reason of expansion of our plants”, Salvane added.
From four production workers with limited 50 soap bars a day, GT now has over 300 employees manufacturing 40,000 products daily from its two plants in Liloan, Cebu and Marilao, Bulacan.
With the continuous demand in productions, GT sets plans to construct new manufacturing plant this year to be nestled on a 3,000 square-meter property in Tayud, Consolacion. The P30-M expansion project aims to double the current production capacity as part of their preparation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Integration 2015.
“We are seeing the Asean integration as a huge window of opportunity to market our products,” said Salvane. “It will help to cope up with the expected increase in demands within the ASEAN countries.”
International Markets
GT products is already distributing products in Korea, Japan, China, Finland, US and Canada.
In 2013, GT Cosmetics started selling in the US, Canada, and United Arab Emirates. Salvane, who is a chemical engineer, emphasized that they cater to international countries, not expecting to stay on top of the competitive industry, but to anticipate and improved efficiency, and produce cosmetics as demanded by customers from across the globe.
“We just work on our production capacity not really competing to others”, said Salvane.
GT is currently completing requirements to be international-certified cosmetics manufacturer to be globally accepted.
Meanwhile, GT will celebrate 20th year anniversary on June 28 this year.
