GSIS Offers College Education to Members
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) offers two educational programs to their members’ child amid the COVID-19 pandemic. These programs are called the GSIS Financial Assistance Loan-Educational Loan (GFAL-EL) and the GSIS Educational Subsidy Program (GESP).
“Itong educational loan po natin ay alinsunod sa utos po ni President Duterte and Senator Bong Go para tulungan po ang ating active members sa bayarin sa tuition fees nga kanilang anak o pamangkin,” said Rolando Ledesma, GSIS President and General Manager.
To avail the mentioned loan, members must have atleast 15 years of government service.
Members of GSIS can now apply up to P100,000 educational loan each year for two-student benificiaries. The two must be related to him or her up to the third degree of consanguinity or affinity and enrolled in a four-or five-year course in a private or public educational institution.
The loans have insurance coverage to protect the interest of the borrowers and their beneficiaries. Aside from the educational loan, GSIS also offers a yearly P10,000 allowance children or dependents of its low-income members through the GSIS Educational Subsidy Program (GESP). (MLC)
