Great Deals at the Cebu Travel Expo 2013
Cebu International Travel Expo (CITE), the biggest and the most exciting travel exposition in the Visayas region will once again be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, Lahug on July 25 – 27. This year, the annual event is organized by Global-Link MP Events International, Inc. (GLMP) in partnership with the Cebu Association of Tour Operators (CATO) and the Cebu Tours and Travel Association (CTTA) will happen simultaneously with Manufacturing Technology Cebu and PackPrint Plas Cebu 2013.
“For us, there is no better place in the Visayas region where a travel expo as big as CITE could be held than in Cebu,” GLMP CEO Patrick Lawrence Tan mentioned in one of the interviews. Cebu is not just one of the most exciting cities in the world, it is also one of the top tourist destinations in the country.
Considering these factors, the Queen City of the South, is no doubt, a great venue not just for activities of leisure but for doing business as well. By letting the Cebu International Trade Expo coincide with Manufacturing Technology Cebu and PackPrint Plas Cebu, we aim to provide wider opportunities that will contribute in taking Cebu’s travel and tourism sector to greater heights., added Tan.
In the recent event launch of CITE, CATO and CTTA, both co-organizers of the international trade expo, were one in saying that as rich and beautiful as the Philippines is, there is still much work to do in order to ensure that the potential of the country’s travel industry is maximized. Organizations concerned in uplifting the tourism sector must continuously seek various opportunities for growth.
“We belong in an era where everything is constantly being improved and developed. Once you stop looking for ways to enhance the industry you belong to, then you start becoming less significant to the nation’s growth. This is why we understand that as an association, it is but necessary for us to explore wider horizons and begin seeing the tourism industry from different angles and perspectives,” said Marget Villarica, CATO Chairman. “In partnering with GLMP in organizing CITE, we are actually looking at the business approach of tourism considering the fact that nowadays, successful businessmen particularly in the manufacturing and export sectors are growing their interest on venturing in the industry of tourism.”
The Cebu International Travel Expo also aims to support the Department of Tourism in achieving its inbound tourism target of 5.5 million foreign visitors and 35 million locals going on domestic tours this year by serving as an avenue for businesses that form part of the tourism industry such as hotels, airlines, car rentals, and the like, to offer the best deals to their target market.
“Our members are dedicated to providing every Cebuano and Filipino with the best destination deals that will give them more options for inbound and outbound travel.” President of CTTA, Sheila Colmenares, shared. “We are carrying this commitment with us as we participate in CITE 2013.”
