Gov’t to Promote Noche Buena Products that Will not Increase Prices
In an effort to help the Filipino family to still be able to celebrate Christmas in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the national government will promote noche buena goods that did not increase their price, giving them an advantage.
This comes as Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez announces that the trade department will promote those Christmas eve items that maintained their prices amid the calling of the agency for manufacturers to refrain from hikes has Christmas season is now upon the Philippines.
Lopez said in a Palace briefing Monday, November 8, that noche buena goods that maintain their prices for this year include fruil cocktails, ham, past, queso de bola, and spaghetti sauce.
“Those that will not increase their prices, they are lucky. The government will promote their products,” Lopez said as over half of the items that are listed as basic necessities did not increase their prices.
DTI convinced manufacturers in 2020 to continue to implement the 2019 prices of noche buena goods. (GFB)
