‘Gorio’ Destroys P60Thousand Worth of Properties
The towns of Daanbantayan and Camotes Island were identified by the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (CPDRRMC) as being affected by typhoon ‘Gorio’ when it hit the country last weekend.
CPDRRMC’s head Neil Sanchez said seven houses along the river of Sitio Suba, Barangay Talisay, Daan Bantayan, were destroyed by a flashflood last June 29. He said at least P60,000 worth of properties was damaged by Gorio.
It was reported that 20 boats were also stranded because of the tropical depression, resulting to the stranding of 2,959 passengers.
