Google Sheets Gets Offline Editing, Filter Views
Google has launched a major update to Sheets, a Google Drive spreadsheet app of Google Drive productivity suite. The new version og Google Sheets joins the rest of Google’s productivity apps in letting users create and edit files offline, a feature many of users have long been asking for.
Offline editing has already been supported by other apps in the suite, like Google Docs and Slide. Those who have already been using offline editing feature in those apps will be able to use it on Sheets right away, those who haven’t used the offline editing feature in the past will have to follow a set of instructions first.
Offline Google Sheets will work in the Chrome browser and on Chrome OS even without internet connection, all changes will be synced back to Google Drive once the user connects to the internet.
The update also improves speed and filter views. The filter views feature lets users create custom views and filter the data in a variety of ways that don’t affect how other people who have access to the spreadsheet view it.
