Google Pixel 7a May Release with Some Colorways Named After… Philippine Cuisine
With Google’s I/O conference happening in May, a leaker claims that some of the budget Pixel 7a phone colorways will be inspired by Philippine cuisine and have more storage options.
Initial leaks for the device’s colors have hues of Arctic Blue, Carbon, and Cotton, newer leaks by Paras Guglani, who goes by @passionategeekz on Twitter say that the next Google budget Pixel phone will feature these names:
Dinuguan Black
Crispy Kale
Mayo Cream
Tide Orange
Vibrant Ube
Do some sound Familiar? That’s right. That Dinuguan Black references the classic Philippine dish. Another staple in Philippine cuisine is Ube, which is made using purple yam found in Southeast Asia and made famous by Philippine pastries.
Moreover, Google’s new budget phone is said to come with a 256GB model as an added option with the classic 128GB Google budget Pixel.
Meanwhile, here are the expected specs of the Google Pixel 7a:
6.1-inch 1080p 90Hz display
Google Tensor G2 processor
6GB RAM/128GB/256GB Storage
64MP Sony IMX787 primary camera
8MP Sony IMX355 front camera
18W wired charging speed
5W wireless charging speed
8MP front camera with IMX355 sensor
Will this hint at a local Philippine release? We hope so, as the Pixel 7 phones sold by some retailers in the country are the US version, meaning Filipinos who buy them don’t get to enjoy its 5G features. (GFB)
