Google Cloud Will Now Show Its Users Their Carbon Emissions
Google stated that it might help businesses in tackling climate change and help users in gaining a better understanding of how much impact they have on the environment.
Google Cloud added tools for this specific reason and one of those is the Carbon Footprint feature. This feature is linked to the user’s electricity consumption via Cloud Platform to show them their gross carbon footprint. The Carbon Footprint feature displays the emissions as well as the ability to break down daya by project, product and region. For businesses, companies will be able to use this information for their own emissions data.
Applications that are not in use will also be flagged by Google Cloud along with their carbon emissions. As Google suggested, deleting these apps will benefit the companies in alleviating security risks, lower costs and reduce carbon footprint.
Google is bringing Earth Engine to the Cloud Platform and in addition, companies can apply for access to Earth Engine through Google Cloud.
