Google Accelerates Offline Sharing in Files Go

Published

on

On June 25, Google released a major upgrade on their Files Go application, making it four times quicker for people to exchange files without Internet presence.

One of the new features involve nearby sharing, which creates an easier process for finding and using devices to share files with. This is accessible via a tab labeled “Share” with a simpler, smoother interface. Said feature works on an array of Android phones from the most recent Google Pixel to the Android 5.0 (Lollipop).

Through enhanced connection strategies, Files Go now has an improved connection speed. At current, the average time for two phones to connect is a concise five seconds.

In addition, Files Go utilizes the speediest file sending method available in your device. As testimony, users have been able to transfer 100 original quality photos from one device to another in not more than five seconds.

Lastly, the app is more secure. Files Go assists in verifying whether you are sharing files to the right device. For additional security, it also encrypts all file transfers done. (Adapted by Lara Angeli Eviota)
