Good Weather Until Sunday – PAGASA
Manila (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday said the country will be storm-free in the next two to three days.
In an interview, PAGASA weather forecaster Meno Mendoza said they are not anticipating any cyclone to affect the country until Sunday.
He said most parts of the country will continue to enjoy relatively good weather for the next three days.
Mendoza said except for the Northern Luzon, the rest of the country including Metro Manila will remain to have sunny to partly cloudy skies with possible afternoon or evening rains because of the localized thunderstorms.
On the other hand, he noted that Northern Luzon including Ilocos Region, Batanes and Calayan Group of Islands will experience occasional rains due to the effects of southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” — the prevailing wind system during the rainy season.
He further noted that PAGASA is still expecting at least three tropical cyclones to affect the country before the month ends.
In its advisory, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.
The state weather bureau also said fisherfolk and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon due to strong gale force wind associated with the surge of southwest monsoon. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
