God’s Presence (Part 2)
“But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21
God came to be “with us” when He sent His Son as a baby to live in a human body, to live a perfect life, and to suffer and die in order to save us from sin. His resurrection conquered death and sin, after which He sent His Holy Spirit to remain with us and in us. The God of the universe devised this plan from the beginning of time, knowing that we would need Him to save us and live in us. Let us celebrate the birth of Jesus daily with the knowledge that God’s plan, set in motion by the birth of a baby, was designed especially for us.
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
