Go Negosyo in Talks with TESDA to Supplement Student’s Entrepreneurial Skills
Go Negosyo held a meeting with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to explore opportunities for collaboration in supporting and enhancing TESDA’s existing entrepreneurship programs.
Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion highlighted that four out of five Filipinos aspire to become entrepreneurs, emphasizing the potential of entrepreneurship to create more job opportunities since micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) contribute to more than half of the country’s employment.
“By helping Filipinos realize this dream, we create more job opportunities because MSMEs generate more than half of the jobs in the country,” he said.
The meeting, which took place on June 2, 2023, touched on various collaboration possibilities.
One significant initiative discussed was the training of women scholars under TESDA through mentorship programs based on the successful Go Negosyo Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME) Program modules.
The project aims to equip women scholars with the necessary entrepreneurial skills and knowledge to pursue their own business ventures, offering alternatives to traditional employment.
If successful, the partnership between Go Negosyo and TESDA intends to expand and provide similar opportunities to a wider range of individuals.
Meanwhile, Go Negosyo also invited TESDA scholars to actively participate in its events, including the popular mall-based entrepreneurship program called 3M on Wheels, which is offered free of charge.
Furthermore, Go Negosyo committed to linking TESDA with the Kapatid Angat Lahat sa Agri Program (KALAP) to enhance TESDA’s agricultural training initiatives. By tapping into the expertise of KALAP’s mentors, TESDA scholars will gain comprehensive knowledge and skills in agricultural entrepreneurship.
This collaboration aims to empower scholars to become successful “nanopreneurs” in the agricultural sector through industry insights, best practices, and mentorship. (GFB)
