Globe Urges Cebuanos to Use Smartphones, Upgrade Network
Out of approximately 4 million Cebuano subscribers, only few are using advanced network known as 3G, while the rest of the majority are still using 2G in mobile communications network in Cebu.
“Cebu is very infant in terms of internet penetration because majority of them are not using smartphones,” said Dan Horan, Globe senior advisor for consumer business, in a press conference held at the Globe Tower Cebu in Cebu Business Park.
Horan said those Cebuanos who are using 2G networks are using 2G-handset phones which are not smartphones. This led Globe Telecom to boost its presence in Cebu and make the Queen City of the South a better place to live, according to Horan.
