Globe Business Leads Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Initiatives for Companies
Globe Business, the enterprise ICT arm of Globe Telecom, is at the forefront of disaster awareness and preparedness for large companies and organizations as it holds the first Cebu Business Continuity Forum at the Cebu Marriott Hotel.
Company officials, subject experts from the government as well as industry opinion leaders will take the stage to provide owners and heads of commerce from Cebu as well as its neighboring provinces with vital information as well as key insights in instilling the importance of preparation and prevention for untoward eventualities which may adversely impact business operations, properties, resources and even lives.
The Forum will serve as an opportunity for important stakeholders in the Visayas region to interface, discuss and exchange best practices in business continuity, harnessing the strength and adoption of available technologies to prepare businesses for any nature and degree of disruptions as well as contingency measures.
“As a company which gives premium on preparedness and being proactive in business continuity, Globe is proud to be part of this initiative to keep enterprises on their toes when it comes to business continuity. The Cebu Business Continuity Forum is a venue to heighten the awareness of our fellow Visayan leaders in the business circles as well as the communities we serve on how we can adapt to the ‘new normal’ in our changing world and commercial environments,” said Globe Enterprise Regional Marketing Head Jasmine Garrido.
The Globe Business Continuity Forum will also showcase the latest ICT capabilities as well as corporate initiatives before the region’s chief executive officers, information technology and human resources heads as well as operational and administrative managers. Globe Head of External Affairs Jocel de Guzman will facilitate a “readiness checklist” session, share the telco’s “Bangon Pinoy” program in light of last year’s Typhoon Haiyan disaster, as well as the current “1 Phone” drive to convert discarded phones into classrooms in nearby Aklan province, and talk about the telco’s “Project Wonderful” campaign. For her part, Globe VP for Enterprise Marketing Charmaine Pamintuan will formally welcome the delegates and provide an overview of the forum’s objectives.
Amb. Marciano Paynor from Ayala Corp.’s External and Government Relations will deliver the opening keynote, covering contingencies and measures to win over threats of calamities and disasters, while Cebu’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Baltazar Tribunalo will delve on the government’s readiness and the LGUs’ critical response system in times of crises.
Key Globe executives and officers such as G-Xchange President Paolo Baltao, Globe IT Consulting Services Director Gilbert Virtucio, Unified Communications Director Louie Villanueva and Senior Product Manager Sam Dichoso will also be on hand to provide valuable learning on the topics of resource and technology readiness.
