GCash to Reach More to OFWs and MSMEs
Globe Fintech start-up Mynt plans to reach out to more micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through the digital wallet app GCash.
MSMEs such as Sari-Sari Stores can now accept payment through GCash, including cash-in and cash-out transactions, and other GCash related services.
Online sellers are using GCash for their businesses as well.
Mynt Chief Executive Officer Martha Sazon said OFWs could also easily send remittances for their family in the country through the GCash app.
Sazon also said that the company plans to allow OFWs to pay bills in the country and also use local services, including buying groceries for their families back home.
Moreover, Mynt is also planning to let OFWs use GCash services without a local sim card.
With over 40 million GCash users nationwide, Sazon said that there are expanding the capabilities of the GCash app to offer more services on the app.
Sazon also said that they want to make GCash much more accessible to many people anywhere, making transactions easier with just a few taps. (ASC)
