Garcia Sees “Conspiracy” in His Suspension
Suspended Dumanjug Mayor Nelson Garcia on Monday said he believes he is a victim of “conspiracy” between Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and the Provincial Board.
Garcia said both officials are in the same political party which was behind the suspension of his sister, former Governor Gwen Garcia.
And although he is not resisting the 60-day suspension order issued against him by Governor Hilario Davide III, Garcia said he is thinking on filing legal actions, including the possibility of filing a motion for temporary restraining order against the suspension, citing abuse of authority on the part of the governor.
He explained that if the complaint on abuse of authority against the governor is proven, Davide would be suspended and Magpale takes over as acting governor.
He, however, said that he has yet to talk with his lawyer regarding the course of action that his camp would consider.
Magpale, in a separate in a separate interview, refused to comment on the matter.
“Free man ta mo-talk about our opinion. So it’s his opinion. I don’t want to comment. It does not deserve a comment, actually,” she said.
