January seemed to provide a sneak peek on how the trend on oil prices in the country will be as oil firms announce new adjustments to specific oil products–this time, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a PHP4 per kilogram increase is set to take effect Today.

This means a regular 11-kilogram LPG container will have an increase of PHP44.

Moreover, LPG brands of oil companies including Petron, Phoenix Super LPG and Solane also announced their own respective adjustments, where Phoenix announced an increase of PHP2.24 per liter and Petron LPG by PHP2.23 per liter.

Auto-LPG prices also announced an increase of PHP2.24 per liter.

These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of February,” Petron said in an advisory.

Meanwhile, the Department of Energy added that “crude oil complex continued its strong uptrend from last week as supply disruptions continue to grow while demand recovery stays robust as some countries are possibly close to ‘peak omicron variant’ impacts.” (GFB)
