Frontline Services Rage Barangay Pasil
Another barangay benefited from the free services of the Cebu City Government’s Frontline Cluster Services through the ‘City Hall at Your Doorstep’ program of Mayor Michael Rama.
For the sixth time around since the program started in the year 2010, the activity was successfully held in Barangay Pasil extending helping hands to its residents today April 13, 2016 Wednesday.
Thousands of Pasilnons flocked along M. Dela Conception Street in the said village to avail of the free services. One of them was Anecita Echivarre, 58, who processed the burial assistance for their family as her child died on March 8 this year.
In an interview with the BARUGG News, Anecita underscored that the activity is of great help to the people since the services of the city government are already accessible right at their doorstep.
“I am thankful to Mayor Mike Rama for having this outreach program, this must be continued in order to help more people especially the less fortunate,” Anecita further shared in Cebuano.
Mayor Rama aims to bring the services of the 22 departments comprising the city government closer to the people and avail it for free sans going to the Cebu City Hall. The program has become institutionalized.
Among the services rendered were medical and dental consultations with free medicines, random blood sugar testing, blood typing, feeding for children, Cedula issuance and anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and cats.
Other services offered were the repair and installation of street lights and artesian wells, consultation on traffic issues and concerns, consultations on the ‘Let there be Light Program’ and urban poor related issues, free hair cutting, job placement referral, pruning and trimming of trees, consultation on drug related issues, fire prevention orientation, and vaccinations for pneumonia prevention, among several others.
The beneficiaries availed the various basic services from the 22 departments of the city government which served as a one-stop shop with avail-all-services-you-can system on a first-come, first served basis.
Meanwhile, the Rama administration has also poured projects in Barangay Pasil. Recently the barangay received P10 Million financial assistance from the city government here intended for various programs and projects for Pasilnons.
The barangay has 9,522 residents living in at least 9 Sitios. It is situated in the city’s South District and about 3 kilometers or 10 to 15 minutes (taking a public utility jeepney) away from the Cebu City Hall.
Furthermore, the “City Hall at Your Doorstep” is an initiative of Mayor Rama launched 6 years ago during his first term as the city’s chief executive which is already institutionalized. It is conducted in line with the commitment of the Rama administration to bring the city government services closer to the people sans going to the different offices in Cebu City Hall.
