Free Medical-dental Services in Boljoon Serve 500 Barangay Constituents
Brgy. El Pardo is the first medical mission implemented by the Cebu Provincial Government after the local elections.
The medical and dental mission served Brgy. El Pardo and its neighboring barangays of Baclayan and Nangka.
Services included free medical consultations for children, adults and senior citizens, dental extractions, circumcision, haircut for children, cholesterol and glucose test, provision of needed medicines, and a feeding program.
The provincial government’s free medical-dental mission in far-flung barangays started in 2013. It is a proactive way of reaching out people in remote areas to receive preventive medicines and treatment.
To date, the Capitol has already served over 100,000 barangay constituents based on the medical consultation records of the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
Vice-governor Agnes Magpale stressed that the provincial government continues to prioritize health services and programs as mandated by Governor Hilario P. Davide III.
“Ang kini nga programa magpadayon sa pagsilbi sa mgakatawhan sa Sugbo. Ug dili lang mi mo-concentrate sa kalungsuran, kun dili adto gyud mi sa mga barangay, hilabi na sa mga bukirang barangay,” Magpale said.
Boljoon elected officials, Mayor Merlou Derama, Vice-mayor Ervin Villaneuva, municipal councilors Genus Navarro and Cedric Batoctoy and Provincial Board Member Tata Salvador were also present in the activity. (by Heart Rizarri)
