Former President FVR Shares Experiences with Poe, Escudero
(PNA) – Former President Fidel V. Ramos met with Senators Grace Poe and Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero over the weekend to share his experiences as the country’s leader from 1992 to 1998.
Escudero on Monday confirmed the meeting which Ramos requested from Escudero less than a month ago.
Although the 2016 elections have been discussed, Escudero clarified that they have not asked for support from the former president.
”We have discussed a lot, not only election but his experiences, plans, dreams and vision, not only for our country but for the whole world,” Escudero said.
Escudero also clarified that they have not asked for support for the 2016 elections.
”Actually, majority of what we have talked about are only jokes,” Escudero said.
Poe and Escudero, political allies and close friends, have not yet announced their plans in the next year’s elections but observers see them running as independent tandem in 2016.
Escudero said Ramos told them that he wanted more participations of the young leaders in the government.
”He said that more youth should join the government,” Escudero said.
Poe is the leading presidential candidate based on the recent surveys while Escudero is top favorite among the possible vice presidential aspirants.
Poe and Escudero met with President Benigno Aquino III and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, the administration’s presumptive presidential candidate, last July 16 in Malacanang. (PNA) CTB/JFM
