Former Dipolog Mayor Recognized ‘Most Influential Filipina’
Former Dipolog City Mayor Evelyn Uy was recognized as among the “100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World” by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN).
Uy received an award under the Founders and Pioneers category during the Gala Awards Ceremony of the 15th Filipina Leadership Global Summit held recently at St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, United Kingdom.
The award category honors Filipina women in their capacities as the chief executive, president, executive director or founder of a company, community organization, non-profit, or business venture that they helped start, build or significantly grow.
It is also “for the trailblazers who have marshaled resources and applied innovative practices, processes and technologies in a new and groundbreaking way to address a significant business or organizational opportunity”.
Other Filipinas recognized were lawyer Lorna Kapunan and Deputy Speaker Cebu Representative Gwendolyn Garcia.
The 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award honors Filipina women who are changing the face of leadership in their local communities and in their adopted countries.
The search is conducted annually worldwide for Filipina women who had accomplished great work leaving a lasting Filipino global imprint through their work in communities, organizations and in their professional and industry sectors.
Awards are given in seven categories such as Behind the Scenes Leaders, Builders, Emerging Leaders (below age 35), Founders & Pioneers, Innovators and Thought Leaders, “Nicole” And Policymakers & Visionaries.
