For a Faster Transaction with SSS, Use Their E-Channels

The Social Security System (SSS) vows to continue working for the digitalization of its core and business process in its effort to improve its services to its members and pensioners.

“For 2019, we are piloting digital transformation in four branches, where there are e-center set-up where members and employers with no internet connectivity can avail of services like registration in the web, issuance of SSS number, filing of maternity services and the like,” Josie Magana, senior vice-president for Luzon Operations Group, said.

She added, “We are doing a lot of things to fast track our services, we just advice our members to update their contact information so we can send them updates.”

Among their services which can now be made through different electronic and self-service facilities of SSS include online application for SS number issuance, Payment Reference Number, inquiry and generation, employment report submission, submission of contribution and loan collection lists, salary loan application, certification of salary loan application, as well as filing of maternity and sickness notification.

Their electronic and self-service channels include My.SSS in www.sss.gov.ph, their mobile application, self-service express terminal, interactive voice response system, and Text-SSS at 2600.

The SSS-San Fernando City, La Union branch is part of the digitalization transformation to fast-track the services and transactions according to Francis Pentecostes, branch head, said.

“We in the SSS ranks second, with 99 percent resolution rate from the complaints called in 8888 hotline,” Magana said.

Further, she added, “From 10,000 complaints before, there have been a 45 percent reduction.”

SSS data showed that in 2018, SSS-related concerns referred by 8888 and Contact Center ng Bayan reached 6,609.

Of the total number of referred cases, 6,554 cases were resolved or a 99.55 percent resolution rate.

The remaining 55 cases are still being attended to or have been referred to a branch or department for processing and continuous monitoring.

Members can also send in their concerns through the SSS hotline 920-6446 to 65, their social media account, e-mail or personally visit the nearest SSS branch. (JCR/AMB/JDS/PIA-1 La Union with reports from SSS)
