foodpanda Brings Global Soup Kitchen to Its Regional Cities

As foodpanda celebrates its fifth anniversary in the Philippines, they want to extend their mission to bring good food to everyone, including to those that need it the most through their campaign called Global Soup Kitchen.

Global Soup Kitchen aims to feed children from less fortunate communities and orphanages to bring smiles to these people through the warmth of food. During its 4th year last year, the foodpanda team partnered with Elise Gaches Alabang, an orphanage for special children in Metro Manila Eats to bring warm meals to 300 special children. This year, foodpanda continues to extend its hand to even more children with two installments of the Global Soup Kitchen to two regional cities, Cavite and Cebu.

In the scorching heat, last July 14 in Vermosa Sports Center in Imus, Cavite, foodpanda along with Football for Humanity, fed almost a hundred Muslim kids with food from its generous partners: Yellow Cab, Krispy Kreme, and McDonald’s. Azkal player, Stephan Shröck joined in the fun and helped put smiles on these kids’ faces by teaching them football, a sport that Filipinos love.

From the Southern part of Luzon down to the Queen City of the South, the foodpanda team together Rise Above Foundation, went to Cebu last July 24th and fed more than 200 children from Sambag Dos with food from our top partner restaurants. Partner restaurants including Shawarma Shack, Koala Tea, and Sunburst Fried Chicken to name a few helped bring joy to these children. In this celebration of foodpanda’s 5th anniversary in the Philippines and its 4th in Cebu, the team, including the riders, also prepared fun-filled games and learn-and-share sessions for the children.

As a food delivery service, foodpanda will continue to make food more accessible, especially to the less fortunate, annual installments of the Global Soup Kitchen. With each success it has, the company will continue to give back, and bring its mission of giving good food to everyone.
