Fitness Ideas for Busy Moms
Exercise should be an important part of everyone’s schedule. But with a kid around, there are so many responsibilities that need to be prioritized that fitness eventually takes the back seat or is completely side-lined. If this is your story, stop feeling guilty about your health and try these fitness tips for busy moms to get back in shape.
Exercise early
Your day usually begins once your little one wakes up, so why not wake up a wee bit early and jog. Waking up early is a good health habit to adopt. It may sound tiring at first but once you make a habit of it, you will be proud of yourself and feel a lot more energized in the morning.
Use nap time wisely
Those few nap breaks that your baby takes may seem like a good opportunity to lie down yourself. But, when health and fitness is a mission on hand, you should use his/her nap time to exercise and strengthen your muscles. Try yoga or lift weights to tone your body.
Exercise while at the playground
This is one of the best way to squeeze in some outdoor exercise. The playground or the park is a big area for both of you to enjoy. Allow your kid to mingle with his/her friends while you exercise. This way you may get a good hour workout in open space.
Walk your way around
Give your car a rest and pull out those sneakers. Walking is one of the healthiest ways to keep fit. Whether it is a short walk to the grocery store or a longer walk to your kids school, don’t hesitate to walk your way to fitness.
House work is also a form of exercise
Without being aware, you can burn up to 150 calories a day. Chores like vacuuming, moping, doing the dishes etc. can burn a lot of calories and work your muscles.
