The Philippine Postal Corporation (PPC)7 on Tuesday revealed the opening of the first private postal service here in Central Visayas this coming September 8, 2014 at barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City, Cebu.

PPC7 Marketing Specialist Rachel Betos during the AGIO forum at the Cebu City PIA office said the PPC could no longer serve the growing number of people who need postal services.

Betos said the PPC is now aggressive to encourage everybody to be part of the PPC franchise business to help improve the postal services regionwide.

Betos identified the owner of the first private postal service outlet as Janice Pasco, a former PPC employee, whose mother was also a retired PPC worker.

She said Pasco who owns an Internet Cafe business wanted to expand her business by opening her private postal service outlet.

Pasco who already experiencing the postal service business was thankful to PPC for giving her a chance to be a part of this promising business.

The PPC, Pasco said only requires P20,000 as accreditation fee from any applicant to this new endeavor.

As an extension of their services, the PPC will provide boxes, scale, and other paraphernalias which are necessary for the newly open outlet to start.

Betos assured those interested applicants for this business to grow the way the PPC outlets progressively survive since the beginning.

However, Betos said the PPC is not encouraging their private outlet to deliver letters to its addressee, as this job will be done by the PPC itself.

The PPC delivery truck will pick up all mails from its various offices everyday including those owned by the private people and they will have to deliver it as soon as possible.

Betos said the private postal office is only allowed to accept mails and parcels and never on cargoes and cash transfer services.
