First Day of Classes Successful — DepEd

The Department of Education in Central Visayas (DepEd-7) reported that the first day of classes on Monday, June 3, was generally peaceful and successful.

DepEd-7 Information Officer Amaryllis Rodriguez said that they didn’t face major problems on the opening of the classes.

Rodriguez said that only minor problems occurred where some of the parents were not able to get their children’s report card yet.

Minor problems also include that some students haven’t been enrolled yet.

Despite of those minor problems, all students, enrolled or not were still accepted to go to school since the DepEd’s goal is “Leave no one behind”.

Meanwhile membership for Boy Scout and Girl Scout is not compulsory.

Students who want to join the Boy Scout and Girl Scout is only voluntary.

Meanwhile, DepEd-7 Regional Director Dr. Juliet Jeruta said that they will situate all the students in their corresponding classrooms.

Some schools are still experiencing insufficient classrooms.

Despite the minor problems, DepEd assured that soon, it will be resolved through the vast development of the education system in the country.

On the other hand, the Police Regional Officer in Central Visayas (PRO)-7 has placed police assistance desks in all schools to ensure security and to assist traffic enforcers. (MLC)
