Firm Ready to Donate P20-M Medical Gas Pipe System for New City Hospital
A private company is ready to establish a PhP20-million centralized medical gas pipeline system for the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) as soon as the new building rises.
Dr. Edward Dampor Sr., owner of Brilliant Metal Craft (BMC) and Machine Design, has committed to install the system at the CCMC for free.
“Just finish building the new hospital and we will give them the machine,” Dampor said.
Dampor introduced the system to the Cebu City government and the media through a presentation at the Radisson Blu Hotel.
The new system will have an oxygen generator that will replace traditional oxygen cylinders and can fill up an equivalent of 50 cylinders of oxygen.
The produced oxygen is also described as safe with a 93-percent purity.
Dampor said BMC won’t turn over the system to the CCMC just yet because transferring it will be costly.
CCMC operations are currently held at the Bureau of Fire Protection compound on N. Bacalso Ave., this city, until its new PhP1.5-billion building will be completed.
Dampor said he will donate the system to help indigent Cebuanos.
Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said he is happy with the offer but the donation needs to go through the Cebu City Council for approval. (PNA) SCS/EB/PJN
