Fire hits Mandaue School

Fire hit Umapad Elementary School and neighboring residences at 4:15 am Thursday

Investigators from the Mandaue City Fire Department pegged the damage at P180,000. Based on the initial investigation, the fire was caused by an overheated ceiling fan at the house of Pepita Calzada. It went to five other neighboring houses and reached Umapad Elementary School, wherein in two classrooms were destroyed. Fire was raised to 3rd alarm, but was declared under control at 4:34a.m.
