Filipino Snack Bags International Award

A homegrown snack brand recently won an award in Indonesia, beating other Indonesian snacks in their home territory.

This comes as Filipino-made snack Piattos won the Digital Popular Award 2022 under the potato snacks category in Indonesia.

The award was presented on September 29 by Infobrand.id, in collaboration with Tras n Co and IMFocus as partners in research conducted on over 1,000 brands from 150 product categories and services.

The award recipients were chosen based on three parameters, which are search engine-based at 40 percent, social media-based at 40 percent, and website-based at 20 percent.

Piattos surpassed other “well-known potato snacks in Indonesia,” according to Universal Robina Corporation (URC), the manufacturer of Piattos, to bag the Digital Popular Award.

URC country general manager Taufiq Basthami said that the company is committed to “delight” everyone.

“We are committed to delight everyone with good food choices, a goal aligned with URC’s purpose, as well as to continue bringing our products closer to our consumers,” said Basthami.

URC has expanded to other Southeast Asian nations such as Indonesia, where Indonesians seem to have enjoyed brands such as Piattos, which was first launched in the Philippines in 1989 under the Jack ‘n Jill megabrand, becoming one of URC’s top brands in the decades that followed. (GFB)
