Masbate City (PNA) — A female drug pusher and buyer were apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by joint elements of the Masbate City Police Station (MCPS) and Provincial Intelligence Bureau of the Masbate Police Provincial Office on Monday afternoon along Boulevard Extension, Barangay Ibingay here.
The police led by Chief Insp. Norlando F. Mesa, MCPS deputy chief of police, arrested suspects Sharon G. Burdeos, 33, separated, jobless and resident of Sitio Matungao, Barangay Tugbo, and Jaylord E. Carmen, 18, single and a resident of Barangay Nursery — both of Masbate City.
They recovered from Burdeos’ possession one piece of pink sling bag (Lacoste brand) containing a small, colored green pouch with six medium-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.
Also recovered were a multi-colored pouch containing PHP1,100, a black face powder container with two aluminum foils, an empty medium-sized transparent plastic sachet which is believed to have shabu residue, a disposable lighter and two mobile phones (Alcatel and SKK brands).
Mesa said they suspected Carmen that had been buying shabu from Burdeos.
All recovered pieces of evidence were accounted and sealed in the presence of the suspects and witnesses Rey B. Ubac and Raul Nadal — both village officials of Barangay Ibingay, and Danny V. Liao, Department of Justice representative.
The arrested persons and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the MCPS for proper disposition and appropriate charges are now being prepared against them before the Masbate City Prosecutor’s Office, Masbate City. (PNA)FFC/FGS/NBT/CBD
