FedEx Express Empowers Cebu SMEs To Access Global Markets Amidst Thriving Digital Economy
FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., and the world’s largest express transportation company, recently concluded a workshop with the theme “Ecommerce Solutions for SMEs”. FedEx Express Information Technology manager, Bing Pockalny and FedEx Express Sales senior manager Garrick Thompson, shared their insights on how Philippine SMEs can leverage the growing digital economy in Asia Pacific.
The workshop was held to help FedEx Express SME customers in Cebu to leverage the flourishing cross-border trade around the region. According to a recent study commissioned by FedEx Express, 46% of SMEs in APAC are sourcing materials from other markets while 71% are exporting to other regions – a trend that Philippine SMEs should leverage in the current economic landscape.
Through a borderless commercial world, entrepreneurs are able to access more product resources, expand their network, boost credibility and reputation, and more importantly, sell to a much bigger market – resulting to increased revenues, wider customer base, and stronger businesses in general.
One particular service being offered by FedEx Express to help SMEs streamline their sales and shipment process is FedEx Advantage, an online platform powered by ShipRush, that integrates all of an SME’s orders from various ecommerce platforms such as Amazon, eBay, and Etsy.
Through FedEx Advantage, SME owners are able to manage the logistics aspect of their business end-to-end: from integrating with an owner’s existing customer relationship management (CRM) tool and shipping products virtually anywhere in the world, to providing them with real-time updates on the status of their packages, and managing replacements and returns. FedEx Advantage automates the whole shipping process for SMEs, enabling them to scale their business by having seamless logistical operations without the inconvenience of traditional manual data entry.
