Fare Reduction Hearing Set Today
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)7 is set to conduct the public hearing for the petition of former Cebu City Councilor for reduction of PUJ fares.
LTFRB 7 director Reynaldo Elnar urges stakeholders, transport operators, commuters and any interested parties to attend the hearing. He said the scheduled activity aims to hear the sentiments of the public over the said matter.
Earlier, Elnar said they will submit a request to the Central Office recommending for a provisional fare reduction of P0.50 after the public hearing today.
To tackled in the hearing was former Cebu City councilor Augustus “Jun” Pe’s petition before the LTFRB-7 to reduce the minimum fare of PUJ by P.50 after the series of oil price rollbacks.
Elnar said it is up to the Central Office to accept or deny their request.
If the Central Office will approve the request then students, persons with disabilities and senior citizens are still entitled to the 20-percent fare discount, he said.
