Expect fair weather and chances of isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon on Wednesday due to the presence of ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA), according to state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA weather forecaster Robert Badrina said the HPA prevails over the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas.

He said the whole country will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

He noted the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat is expected to return within the week.

Badrina said that no weather disturbance is seen near the Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next two to three days that may develop into a tropical cyclone.

No tropical cylone is expected for this month, he said.

In its advisory, PAGASA said light to moderate winds coming from the south to southwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southeast to south over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.

The state weather bureau has not issued gale warning as the fisherfolk are safe to venture into the seas. (PNA) JMC/CLTC/Tresha R. Finianos/Hygeian R. Español (OJTs)
