Fair Weather Seen in Most Parts of PHL Except S. Mindanao
Except Southern Mindanao most parts of the country will continue to experience fair weather on Thursday, according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
In its advisory, PAGASA said an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is now affecting Southern Mindanao while northeast monsoon prevails over the seaboards of Northern Luzon.
The regions of Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN will continue to experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains because of an ITCZ, which is considered as breeding ground for low pressure areas.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rains because of localized thunderstorms.
The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24-34 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
The state-run weather bureau also issued a gale warning due to the effects of northeast monsoon as the sea condition will be rough to very rough due to strong to gale force winds over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon.
“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it warned.
It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
