Fair Weather Seen in Most Parts of PHL Except N. Luzon

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday said Northern Luzon will continue to experience rains due to a low pressure area (formerly tropical depression “Lando”.

PAGASA weather forecaster Shelley Ignacio said that as of 4 a.m. Thursday, the LPA was spotted some 160 km east southeast of Basco, Batanes (20.2N, 123.5E).

Ignacio said the LPA has high chance to dissipate in the coming days.

Fair weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country Thursday except in Northern Luzon.

For Thursday forecast, PAGASA said cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will be experienced over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes and Cagayan, including Calayan and Babuyan group of islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to southwest will prevail over Luzon and Eastern Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA advised fisherfolk not to venture out over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon due to strong to gale force northeasterly surface windflow as the sea will be rough to very rough. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
