Facebook Introducing New Measures to Prompt Teens Away from Harmful Content
After being criticized by US lawmakers regarding the safety of its users and community, Facebook is introducing new measures on its apps.
The said measures are done in hopes to nudge teens away from content that could be harmful to their well-being.
Facebook vice president of global affairs Nick Clegg, stated that regulators should have access to the algorithm of the network that is used to amplify contents. Clegg expressed that algorithms should be held to account by regulation so users can match what’s in their system.
The vice president of global affairs spoke after Frances Haugen, former employee of Facebook and now a whistleblower, testified on Capitol Hill about how Facebook is encouraging users to keep browsing and scrolling through while doing harm to teen’s well-beings.
