“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13
“…The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:
Oftentimes, we hear ourselves saying “I’m just an ordinary person; there’s nothing special about me. Why would God use?”. While God sometimes uses miracles and angels, He more often chooses ordinary people doing ordinary things to accomplish something extraordinary. A lot of people in the Bible (you can read it for you to find out) and great men in our generation have impacted society because they were used by God. The most important thing was, they allowed themselves to be used by God.
Peter (the Apostle) was a fisherman and was perceived by Bible scholars as an impulsive persona but was behind the influx of 3,000 converts to Christ in his speaking to the people in Jerusalem after Jesus’ ascension. David, a rubbish boy, who spent all his childhood time to tend sheep and goats, never was thought to be the next king of Israel, the chosen nation of God. The list goes on, even as to Anno Domini (A.D.).
One day, God may call you to do something extraordinary, however, for now get to know him first, and you’ll be ready when He calls.
