Express Inn, one of the fastest growing budget hotels in Cebu is proving that an affordable price doesn’t mean it’s cheap service.

Express Inn Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Paul Morgia had an interview with Metro Cebu News (MCN) and talked about their humble beginnings and their plans for the future of the hotel.

Since in 2012, Express Inn already captivated local and international tourists with their impeccable service and amenities that you don’t usually experience in a budget hotel.

For a budget hotel that offers free breakfast for their guest, add that they have their own restaurant, Samuel that will satisfy your hunger and even serve it inside your room. Express Inn is truly a hotel without compromises.

Morgia added that they have already conceptualized a budget hotel in Lapu-Lapu City and the first branch of Express Inn was built.

“We started in 2012 but before 2012 we are already planning a budget hotel in Lapu-Lapu because we already have an existing property,” Morgia said.

Morgia also said that they were very new to the industry when they open Express Inn Mactan.

Express Inn Mactan has gained very good occupancy after the opening. The location is very accessible from the airport and to the different tourist spots in Lapu-Lapu City which inspired them to continue and expand in Cebu City.

In the same year, with the success of their first branch, Express Inn also started the construction of their second branch in Mabolo, Cebu City.

The 84 rooms hotel, Express Inn Mabolo was also a big success for the company.

The Better, Bigger Express Inn Osmeña

Three years since the success of their first two branches in Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu City, Express Inn wanted to expand more but as a new player in the industry they have a lot to improve as a company.

“Actually we were already planning to build a branch sa Bohol on our third year, unya ni earthquake man, so na-stop ang plan, only to realize that kulang pa diay mig mga system and procedures, we need a lot of improvements (Actually we are already planning to build a branch in Bohol, unfortunately the earthquake happened which halted the plan, only to realize that we lack the proper system and procedures, we need a lot to improve),” Morgia said.

Express Inn then improved their system to increase their competitiveness. Five years later, Express Inn added the newest and biggest branch yet in Osmeña Boulevard.

The newly open Express Inn Osmeña hosts 144 rooms definitely an improvement to the previous branches and can accommodate more guests.

Future Expansions of Express Inn

It has already been in the mind of the company that they wanted to be the preferred budget hotel in Central Visayas.

During a period of 7 years, Express Inn is looking to expand in Panglao and Tagbilaran City in Bohol, Dumaguete City, Siquijor, and key tourist areas in Cebu to accommodate guests that are looking for a better budget hotel.

“Among na realize through the years among mga clients, especially foreigners they preferred to go to many tourist destinations in Central Visayas particularly Siquijor, Bantayan Island, Oslob and Moalboal (We realized through the years that our clients especially foreigners prefers to go to many tourist destinations in Central Visayas particularly Siquijor, Bantayan Island, Oslob and Moalboal),” Morgia said.

Express Inn is also keen to expand their business in Palawan especially in the town of El Nido, Coron and Puerto Princesa City. (ASC)
