Expect Partly Cloudy Skies with Afternoon or Evening Rain — PAGASA
Manila (PNA) — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the island of Luzon will experience clear skies Saturday, as the ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) will continue to affect the area.
“Ridge of HPA will affect Luzon,” PAGASA said in its 24-hour Weather Bulletin that was released at 5 a.m. Saturday.
The HPA, which is the opposite of a low pressure area (LPA), will bring light winds, less rainclouds and drier air.
However, PAGASA said the archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies during the afternoon or evening. It will also bring isolated thunderstorms.
The state-run weather bureau added light to moderate winds, blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over the Philippines, would affect coastal waters to be slight to moderate.
According to its charts, there are no weather formations yet along the Pacific Ocean.
The U.S. Navy’s Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) also reported there are no seen formations in the area yet.
Thus, the country will still be clear of typhoons in the coming days. (PNA) JBP/JLD
