Escańo Family Exhibition

856 G Gallery presents this Thursday July 30, 3015 at 6:00pm the Escańo Family Exhibition.

The event is a part of a series of events for the large Escaño clan 8th Grand Reunion on July 30 to August 2, 2015 which is hosted by the Mamerto line branch. Dr. Mamerto Escaño was one of the eldest sons of Don Fernando Escaño, patriarch of the Escaño Family.

This family reunion started in 1987 and was headed by Nito Sala, Loren Escaño, Cheling Sala, Angel “Boy” Veloso, Jimmy Escaño, Michel Lhuillier, Petit Garcia, Maia Franco, and the late Paul Evangelista and Pet Escaño-Misa.

The Escańo Family Exhibition will be composed of artworks, beautiful paintings and also the family heirlooms of the Escaño family. Old photographs dating back from the 1930s until 1960s from Don Mamerto, will also be on display. Then in honor of his legacy, a Photography Contest that is open to all family members will be held.

The exhibit is also the venue of the relaunching of the Escaño coffee table book entitled “Escaño: A Family Portrait”which was written by the no other than the famous Filipino Historian, Resil Mojares.

Resil Mojares himself will be there for the book signing. Books are sold at P1,500.

Lastly as part of the program, on the day of her 2nd death anniversary, Pet Escaño-Misa of the Mamerto line will be honored for her leadership and extensive contribution as one of the officers of Fundacion Escaño.

Ribbon cutting will be done by Mr. Michel Lhullier.
